Policies and Procedures
Policies and procedures are in place to protect the children, parents and staff and are very important in the day to day running of the nursery. The nursery has many policies which parents can view at any time. We have detailed some of the main ones below.
Dealing with sick children
The Nursery will deal with the following illness and inform the parent. Small Grazes cuts, nose bleeds, bumps, sickness or diarrhoea occurring only once.
If illness of the following nature occurs the parent should be informed as soon as possible and asked to collect their child.
High fever, sickness or diarrhoea more than once sticky eyes, doubtful rash or spots.
The parent or carer should be reminded of nursery policies on the following minimum exclusion periods as detailed.
Antibiotics Prescribed First dose given at home
Vomiting Forty Eight Hours and eating normally
Diarrhoea Forty Eight Hours and eating normally
Eye Infection Forty Eight hours and medication prescribed
Oral Thrush Forty eight hours from start of TreatmentChickenpox Seven days from appearance of rash
Rubella Four days from appearance of rash
Throat Infection Three Days from start of treatment
Impetigo 48 hours after antibiotic treatment has started
Head Lice Until treatment has been Given
Scabies Until treatment has been Given
Threadworms Until treatment has been Given
Food Poisoning Until Authorised by public health department
