Day Care in Paisley

Our service
Glencoats Lodge Nursery was established in 2005 and is in the original lodge house for the mansion of Peter Glen Coats, in the Ferguslie Park area of Paisley. We are open 52 weeks of the year and offer full and part time places for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. We cater for 9 babies between the ages of 6 weeks to 2 years and 13 children between the ages of 2-5 years, totalling 22 children on our daily register. We are a small nursery providing a caring, loving environment for all children. Being such a small nursery we feel we benifit as we are able to get to know the children better and spend more 1-1 time with them. We are able to treat the children like our own family and build positive relationships with the children and their parents/carers.
We offer a wide range of learning opportunities for babies to pre schoolers to enhance their learning and development. We aim to ensure that a safe, high quality provision is offered to all children in our care.

Staff are appointed following a careful selection process in accordance with care commission requirements.
We are committed to ongoing staff development and training and are always striving to improve our skills and knowledge.
Keyworker system
When your child starts nursery they are allocated a member of staff who will record their progress throughout their time in nursery. Each member of staff will have a few children to do this for and this is the member of staffs group and he/she is their keyworker.
Each child when they start nursery is given a profile folder and it is the responsibility of the keyworker to chart your Childs progress and to add examples of your child's work and also photographs of your child participating in various activities in nursery. It is also the keyworker who will complete reports on your child for parent's night and also have a meeting with you on parent night.
Your child's keyworker will not change unless they move rooms and if this happens your child's profile is passed on to their new keyworker for this room and it is now their responsibility as they are now your child's keyworker.
A keyworker is someone who builds a close bond with your child and gets to know your child extremely well. It is someone who spends 1 on 1 time with your child and also group time and helps to encourage your child and has a good relationship with your child. The keyworker also builds good relationships with the parents so if you have any concerns or questions regarding your child's progress they will be able to answer these for you.
A keyworker is an essential part of nursery life. Each keyworker charts their children's development and they can see areas that your child is excelling at and also areas your child may need some encouragement with and they give your child this encouragement.
